Dynavap Woody Ti

Introduction

This is a big brother of the vapcap you can check out the different versions here or preorder them directly from Dynavap here. It is a portable butane vaporizer, and is heated directly with the flame under the stainless steel tip.

Ease of use – 9/10

  • fill oven, put the cap on the oven
  • hold the lighter underneath the tip
  • rotate the vapcap slowly over the flame
  • wait for the click
  • put it to your lips, and tap the carb hole as you inhale (thanks /u/ilikegooddeals here)
  • wait for the cool down click and repeat, or blow on it and rub it against your palm to cool it down and return it to the doob tube it comes with

It took me 2 bowls to figure out the vapcap, it would have taken me longer if /u/ilikegooddeals hadn’t given me some advice.

Efficiency – 7.5/10

Taste – 6/10 or 8/10 depends on your use

If you are like me, you’ll end up with a gritty almost burning taste. I don’t mind it, it allows you to have an extremely quick session and then be done! I do this by heating it quickly, and close to the flame. If you want better taste (which I have tried and it is pretty good) slowly heat up the cap and hold the vapcap further from the flame.

Stealth Factor – 5/10

Butane is pretty loud, especially triple or quad flame lighters. Right now I use a single flame, because I find it more convenient and quieter. Plus, you can say you are lighting a cigar etc with a single flame lighter… with a 3 or 4 flame I don’t think that would be a good excuse.

Looks – 9/10

There are small imperfections in the cap, the wood looks amazing and it all flows really nicely. At first the o-ring on the back was misshaped, but it was relatively easy to fix myself.

Vapor Quality – 8/10

It is a LOT less harsh than I thought it would be. It does leave a slight tickle in the throat though. If you want a harsh hit, hold the carb and pull. Release it after 5-6 seconds and you basically created a small steamroller.

Cost – 7/10

It is pretty expensive for some wood and metal. It is beautiful though, and created with care. I love the work Ed’s TNT did with the Cocobolo wood.

Final thoughts:

This is a great introduction to butane vapes, there are probably better portables out there but I haven’t tried them yet. I can’t wait to see what the future brings me in regards to portable butane!
